The patterns bring colour and warmth to a room in place of a lit fire and still allow the magnificent carving of a Chesney's chimneypiece to be admired. Shown is the John Stefanidis fire screen in Walnut wood frame with Gonfaloniere fabric. |
The purpose of a fire screen in Victorian times was to conceal the empty fire chamber when the fire was out of use, functioning as a work of art in itself. Shown is the John Stefanidis fire screen in Zebrano wood frame with Bokhara fabric.

These limestone panels are a carved interpretation of Stefanidis' fabric 'Gonfaloniere' which also features in one of the fire screens he has designed for Chesney's. The intricate pattern repeats diagonally to create a flowing design which, together with Chesney's exquisite craftsmanship, will complement any interior. As each block is individually carved, it can be made to any size.
